The Pioneer Annex Range Complex\u00a0is a 76+ acre outdoor facility that allows us to take advantage of the outdoor environment and follow federal guidelines while conducting training.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Fundamental Shotgun Skills (FSS) is a 5hr introductory course designed to provide students with safe, efficient, and effective defensive shotgun skills. Contrary to popular belief, the shotgun doesn&#8217;t have to &#8220;beat you up&#8221; when using the proper technique. Learn to be a competent shotgun operator without the fear or pain commonly associated with this firearm.\u00a0Students will receive a mixture of lecture, practical, and live-fire instruction aimed at familiarizing them with their shotgun, how it works, and how to achieve accurate first-round hits on target consistently. FSS\u00a0is excellent for beginners looking to learn new skills or shooters looking to fine-tune previously learned skills. This course is a good prep-course for any of the PFC Progressive Shotgun Series of classes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course content will include but is not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Firearms &amp; Range Safety &#8211; Learn proper firearm safety and handling techniques for on and off the range.<\/li>\n<li>Shotgun Nomenclature &#8211; Learn the different parts of your shotgun so you can handle and shoot it better.<\/li>\n<li>Shotgun Maintenance\u00a0&#8211; Keep your shotgun maintained, so it functions when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Preparatory Handling \u00a0&#8211; Learn best practices for loading, status checking, and unloading your shotgun.<\/li>\n<li>Mounting and Recoil Mitigation &#8211; How to shoot the shotgun in a way that doesn&#8217;t beat you up and allows you to enjoy shooting!<\/li>\n<li>Fundamentals of Marksmanship and Self Patterning &#8211;\u00a0Learn that there&#8217;s more to the shotgun than just pointing it and pressing the trigger.
